Over two hundred years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. Through participation in the Society’s programs and activities you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation and promoting educational and patriotic endeavors. Any woman 18 years or older regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. March 2017 Meeting - The Merci Train

Teresa Rimer, District Director and Chairman of the DAR Regents' Council of Chattanooga (front row, center) joined us for our March meeting. Caren Lorelle presented the program on "the Merci Train"; Carrie Ann Bright and Teresa Rimer brought refreshments. Those present received the newsletters for February and March and a copy of the new brochure. We collected items that will be sent to deployed women as part of Project Patriot. Venita Allmond reported on the status of new members' applications. Caren Lorelle gave bags of flower seeds to be planted or broadcast to help the bees and birds. These are self-seeding annuals and perennials that should increase every year.
