Over two hundred years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. Through participation in the Society’s programs and activities you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation and promoting educational and patriotic endeavors. Any woman 18 years or older regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. DAR Schools and DAR Approved Schools

At our January 2016 meeting Chaplain Faye Sliger presented her program on DAR Schools and DAR Approved Schools. The DAR Schools are Kate Duncan Smith in Alabama and Tamassee in South Carolina. The DAR Approved Schools are Hillside School Massachusetts, Hindeman Settlement School in Kentucky, Berry College in Georgia and the Crossnore School in North Carolina. Faye shared information about each of the schools and encouraged us to visit them.
